Juliet is now 4 months old so I decided it may be time to see what my wonderful Trends For Kids Jogging buggy is capable of. I have the Multi X Carry cot for the Joggster which is suitable for babies from birth. The carry cot can recline into a kind of seat but with support......so I figured it was time to take a little test run/jog to see how this was all going to work.
There was a covering of snow on the hills and as we all know I dislike road running so figured a little run up onto the Coppice would be a good test for the Joggster.
I am fortunate enough to be a brand ambassador for Trends For Kids buggies and I have been desperate for Juliet to be old enough for me to have a proper play with the pram since the day it was delivered.
I wrapped J up in a nice warm winter all in one and took a blanket with us too. She was strapped securely into her harness and ready to go. I had attached the bottle holder and storage pocket so I could take my phone, keys, camera, cuddly toy etc. I also stuck my coat in the storage tray underneath the pram and we were ready for the off.
Now if I am honest, I was a little dubious as to how the steering would be on the pram. With having a fixed front wheel I wasn't sure how well it would corner. As we set off I soon learnt that simply applying a little pressure downwards on the handlebar allowed the pram to steer quite easily. The first half a mile was on the pavements....which were icy but the pram handled really well.then we started the climb up the tarmac to the Coppice then onto the trails, which were nicely covered in a thin layer of snow.
Running up the hill was hard work! No denying it ....but then hills always are. The pram felt pretty light to push and the handling position was comfortable......as for Juliet....well, she fell asleep after about three minutes and wasn't bothered at all about the pram's handling, clearly she found it very comfortable.
We pushed on up the steep hill and turned the steep switch back and managed to summit the hill much to the surprise of the many walkers we saw on the way up. We stopped for a look at the snowy view then decided to check out the brakes! The track down was pretty steep and covered in a layer of snow and ice but the buggy was great. The brakes worked well and we had no problems at all.
So for our first run we managed a hilly 5.5 miles in the snow. Juliet slept the whole time and I really enjoyed being able to get some running done without leaving her behind!
I think we will experiment with some more routes and get a nice collection of choices to assist in my training plan.
I must take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the amazing people at Trends For Kids and Clever Clogs Inc for the chance to be a brand ambassador and for providing me with this amazing piece of kit which will allow me to continue my Ultra distance training with my daughter rather than leaving her behind.
We are looking forward to our next adventure!
